Leeds United continued a run of fine form to keep within two points of the Championship summit on Saturday afternoon.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side defeated Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Elland Road to make it five unbeaten, and it marked the end of a particularly barren spell for one Whites player.

Patrick Bamford scored his first goal since August when he slotted home from the penalty spot after teammate Luke Ayling was felled inside the area on the half-hour mark.
His celebration was a sight that Leeds fans have been long-awaiting to see. 78 days to be precise.
Bamford has taken a lot of flak this season, most notably against Preston North End, as the club signed Arsenal’s promising starlet Eddie Nketiah on loan, and he hasn’t started a single game for the club this season because of Bielsa’s preference to the 26-year-old.
Although he is now injured, so the 6 foot 1 striker is expected to face very little threat to his starting spot for the foreseeable future, but his latest showing should give him and fans alike some confidence going forward.
Those in west Yorkshire will be very much hoping that they see more of the above after the international break as Leeds continue to mount a serious promotion charge this campaign.
