Sport Recife have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Wolves to sell Pedro Lima to the Molineux club. The news comes after Lima had seemingly confirmed he would be moving to Chelsea, but Wolves have gazumped the Blues to the Brazil Under-17 international's signature.

Lima is believed to have agreed a five-year contract with Wolves. The right-back has played 30 times for Recife across all competitions so far in 2024, including eight appearances in Brazil's national second tier.
WHAT SPORT RECIFE SAID
In a statement, the Brazilian club said: "Sport Club do Recife announces that it has signed a binding agreement to transfer the economic and federative rights of athlete Pedro Lima to Wolverhampton Wanderers, from England. The agreement is subject to customary conditions, including the athlete's approval of medical examinations conducted by the English club. President Yuri Romao and the football management committee will detail the operation in a statement when all acts related to the business have been completed."

Lima will celebrate his 18th birthday on July 1, so nothing will delay him relocating from South America to Europe once the transfer window opens. At present, there are seven Portuguese speakers in the first-team squad at Wolves, including senior right-back Nelson Semedo and fellow Brazilians Matheus Cunha and Joao Gomes.
